Congo: LPG Nkossa shutdown: a real success!
Our new metals contract team has just successfully completed its first shutdown on the Nkossa FPU. For over six weeks without any lost-time incident, the teams fitted 12,000 m3 of scaffolding, painted an area of 3,000 m² and installed hot/cold thermal insulation on the three LPG columns and lines.
A complicated project due to simultaneous operations and confined space available to work in, on a facility in operation (the facility was only partially shut down). This project will stand us in good stead for the next Nkossa 2019 shutdown (a five-year approach) which will be much more substantial.
Congratulations to the local teams, and special thanks to our customer Friedlander and to Total E&P Congo for their support.
