Africa deploys its training module for managers and supervisors
Our Sub-Saharan region raised a new challenge last June with the project to develop and deploy an internal training module dedicated to site managers and supervisors in Angola. The content of this module is rich and includes the following elements: the Group HSE strategy, the Golden Rules implementation system, the Group Safety Culture Video, the actions to be implemented in the field, the roles and responsibilities of supervisors and site managers, the attitude to adopt when faced with dangerous behaviour but also when good practices arise. The importance of a strong and integrated Safety Culture in the control of our risks and the contribution of a fair recognition and sanction policy are also highlighted in this training. The process is finalised by an examination with a required pass of 70% to ensure a strong level of understanding from attendees.
The first sessions were performed in English. The programme was then rolled out in English, French and Portuguese and should continue until all designated persons in Luanda, Cabinda, Soyo and Lobito pass the examination. This process has already met a great success among the attendees. Their feedback has been extremely positive. As well, the pass marks are very high: currently 97.4% of attendees have been successful!
