Business Development Manager
A few words about yourself:
I’m 33 years old, I grew up in Molde and took my MBA in the USA. Have been with the company for 7 years. I started off as project manager for modification & decommissioning projects in Norway. Then after 3 years in Norway I moved to our office in Houston to work as a Project Manager there, while also supporting business development efforts. After a couple of years I took over as Branch Manager in Houston, mainly focusing on business development and follow-up of projects in the US and Australia. Half a year ago an opportunity came up with our business in Africa – and here I am today.
What does your job involve?
Managing Business Development of Inspection Maintenance Decommissioning and Asset Integrity in the Sub Saharan Africa region, based at our office in Angola. Our mission is to develop and implement more engineering-driven and mechanically-oriented solutions and services for inspection, modification, repair and installation works, onshore and offshore.
The Business Development team supports each entity in promoting our added capabilities to new and existing clients.
What do you find exciting about your job?
The entrepreneurial and opportunistic mind-set within our Group, despite the fact that we are a big and well established company. I am also very interested to work in a multi-cultural environment with co-workers and clients from all over world.
What are the challenges that you are up against?
To continue the development and implementation of new services to our clients in Sub Saharan Africa region. We see a huge potential of providing clients with smart, safe and cost effective solutions and in the current environment we all have to think of how we can work to optimise our client’s operating costs.
How do you imagine tomorrow?
There is definitely more I would like to experience in Africa, and many exciting new projects to take on. Then eventually, when I get old, I would like to get back to my skis and bike in Molde.
